June 16th gave the first fawn, yes it’s here!
The record winter allowed recapture of moisture levels, the wet spring promoted the lush green and saturated the red rock.

ENDLESS WINTER… 2009
March and early April brought record snowfalls to the Devils Tower Territory.
Late in April, turkeys, were displaying.
North slope driveways were impacted by heavy accumulation and then blowing snow. This 2.5 mile road was opened with a D4 to preserve the surface from severe errosion and impassibility with spring rapid thaw coming. The accumulation measured from 27 inches to 40 inches before the cat touched it!
Historic Tipple east of Aladdin, Wyoming.
Indian Rock Highway 24 near Hulett, Wyoming.
Wind redistributed the white stuff and created our classic winter beauty.
Our roof was shoveled daily, this was the “light” accumulation on March 31, 2009.
Our First National Monument was open for business, the photo ops in early morning are breathtaking, more are posted on our individual Devils Tower page within the Gallery.
Wildlife was hapy to be relieved from falling snow.
Heavy accumulations left divided streets and huge mounds of snow everywhere you looked!
Area businesses suffered property damage from heavy snow loads.

Belle Fourche River, Hulett, Wyoming
March 24, 2009 Spring Blizard brought 2 feet+ of snow high winds and huge drifts and cornices.
Mid March brought high 60’s and the beginning of Spring.
Then March saw rapid thaws of heavy snow accumulation forcing ice to fracture and move with rapidly rising water and distributed outside river banks, and smack in the middle of our road!
Early March saw heavy snowfalls.

CARLITA’S CABIN
Wyoming mountain cabin beauty is often expressed in traditional log architecture and many years of floral accent. Because of the pure dedication and love of horticulture, gardens of such beauty are rare in these days. Enjoy this cabin and it’s garden of beauty. This wonderful home is not for sale, it is here for your visual pleasure.
